How does the Payka service work? Payka is a deferred payment service that allows you to pay your household expenses (e.g. electricity, gas, internet bills or insurance policies) without committing your funds at the time of payment. Payka will pay your expense and you will pay it back later - either in one go for up to 45 days or even in 12 instalments.
The service is offered by

Payka), which covers the cost of your expense at the time of payment.
How does the Payka service work?
- Choose Payka - Add the service to the shopping basket on the website or open a link to pay for the bill, e.g. in the eBOK (electronic customer service office) of the selected provider. Select a payment method on the payment gateway Payka - pay later.
- Fill in the form - complete a short form and confirm your identity using the mCitizen app or from your online banking (you will go through an identity and credit verification process).
- Confirm transaction - confirm the payment with the SMS code received.
- Payka pays your transaction - Your expense is paid immediately.
- Repay at a convenient time - You can pay the amount due in one go up to 45 days or spread it over convenient instalments.
If a method is not available from your provider, please contact their customer service to request the use of Payka.
Deferred payments are available for transactions as early as PLN 49.99.
How does the payment process work with Payka?
- After positive verification, Payka transfers the funds to the service or utility provider (e.g. energy, telephone, insurance, electricity).
- The expense is paid as if you had done it with your own funds.
- You will receive a reminder to repay before the 45 days are up.
- You can choose to make a one-off repayment or spread the amount due over up to 12 equal instalments.
How much does the Payka service cost?
- Single repayment up to 45 days - no additional costs.
- Repayment by instalments - The cost will be calculated depending on the number of instalments you choose.
Who can benefit from deferred payments and what transactions can I pay Payka for?
Payka can be used by people who successfully pass verification through the mCitizen app or through their online banking. The service is not available to companies. It can be used to pay for household expenses in amounts as low as PLN 49.99.
If you don't see the Payka option, you can:
- Check that the value of your order falls within the required range.
- Contact the service provider and apply to use Payka.
Why was my request for a deferred payment rejected?
Your application may have been rejected for several reasons:
- Incorrect data in the application or when logging in to online banking or the mCitizen app.
- Inconsistency between the data in the application and the data in the bank/application mCitizen.
- Lack of creditworthiness to use the service.
- Negative credit history.
To which account number should the funds be returned?
You will find the account number and details of the repayment schedule in the deferred payment agreement Payka. You will receive these documents at the e-mail address you provided during registration.
Remember that you can:
- Repay the amount due in one go up to 45 days.
- Spread repayment over up to 12 equal instalments.
