Additional information
It is best to place an order for a vignette 2-3 days before your planned journey. It is not advisable to do it earlier, as plans like to change and cars like to break down. A generated vignette cannot be changed or returned, so before you confirm payment - make sure that all the details match. Editing or returning a vignette can only be done for Austrian vignettes. For other countries this is not possible. Only consumers can withdraw from the contract within 14 days of purchase. When purchasing for a company, a refund is not possible.
If you want to change the start date of your Austrian vignette, e.g. from 12 November to 2 December, and the price has changed in the meantime, you have to return the old vignette and buy a new one.
With Autopay, you are guaranteed a secure transaction - all vignettes have the necessary information and are official documents (so you have no reason to worry about checks).
In Austria, in addition to the standard vignette, there is a system of additional tolls for selected bridges and tunnels, which can be paid in the app using the 'Austria - Tunnels and Bridges' (FLEX) service. This service allows you to easily and cashlessly pay tolls for specific road sections, without having to stop at toll gates. If you already have a valid toll for a particular registration number, FLEX will not charge you again, eliminating the risk of a double charge.
With FLEX you can use the green lanes designated for cars, avoiding queues. However, it is worth bearing in mind that specific rules for the recognition of number plates apply for motorbikes and cars with trailers - in such cases, the barrier may not open automatically and you will have to use an attendant or another lane. The system is particularly beneficial on the A9 motorway, where it is possible to pass through the toll plaza without stopping thanks to the new barrier-free system.
