Basic information

A vignette is a proof of payment for toll roads in a selected country. After purchase, a PDF file is sent to you - you can print it out or show it on your phone screen during the check. There is no need to place it behind the vehicle window.

The vignette contains the details of the vehicle and its period of validity.

The purchase of a vignette is possible:

  • in the Autopay app (Download from: App Store, Google Play)
  • on market.autopay.pl
  • on vignettes-online.co.uk

Vignettes are available for the following countries:

  • Austria - for 1 day or 10 days
  • Bulgaria - for 7 days or 1 month
  • Czech Republic - for 1 day, 10 days or 30 days
  • Romania (purchase only available at vignettes-online.co.uk) - for 1 day, 10 days, 30 days and 365 days
  • Slovakia - for 1 day, 10 days or 30 days
  • Slovenia - for 7 days or 1 month
  • Switzerland - for 1 year
  • Hungary - for 1 day, 10 days or 1 month

Orders are processed daily between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. In the case of overnight purchases, the vignette will be posted after 7:00 a.m. Vignettes with an expiry date of "today" can be purchased from 7:00 a.m. Austria is an exception - here processing takes place around the clock.

Vignettes for Austria purchased via Autopay do not have an 18-day grace period. They can be purchased with an effective date of 'today' and activation is usually within 15 minutes of payment. If required, it is also possible to edit or return the vignette - see the editing rules section for details.

Vignette checks are carried out automatically - cameras and road patrols scan the licence plate and check the validity of the vignette. Manual checks are also possible, in which case you must present an electronic or paper vignette.

How do I buy a vignette via the Autopay app?

Purchasing a vignette through the Autopay app is available to users of the plans Mobility Basici Mobility Firmwho use a payment card or Blik recurring payments as a payment method.

If the option to purchase vignettes is not visible, it is worth checking that the latest version of the app is installed.

To buy a vignette on the Autopay app:

  1. Log in to the application.
  2. Go to the Vignettes section and select the flag of the country to which you plan to travel.
  3. Select a vehicle if more than one has been added to the account.
  4. Select a vignette category (if required).
  5. Select the duration (number of days).
  6. Indicate the expiry date.
  7. Make sure all data is correct.
  8. Confirm payment.

Once payment has been credited, the vignette will be sent to your email address and will appear in the app - usually within about 15 minutes (between 7am and 11pm, except for Austrian vignettes, which are processed 24 hours a day).

Important:check all data carefully before confirming payment - once purchased, it cannot be edited or returned (except for the vignette for Austria). Do not enter the toll route until the vignette has been delivered by email or appears in the app.

The registration number must be entered according to the registration certificate or plates - without spaces, using letters and numbers. For German and Austrian plates, the characters allowed are: A-Z, Ä, Ö, Ü, 0-9. If the number plate ends with the letter "E" (electric vehicles) or "H" (historic vehicles), this should only be entered if it actually appears on the plate.

How to buy a vignette via market.autopay.pl or winiety-online.pl ?

The vignette can also be purchased via market.autopay.plor winiety-online.pl.

Enough is enough:

  1. Select the country for which the vignette is needed.
  2. Specify the vehicle category (if required) and the duration of the vignette.
  3. Indicate the expiry date.
  4. Enter the vehicle registration number.

The registration number should match the registration certificate or plates - no spaces, using letters and numbers. For German and Austrian plates, the characters allowed are: A-Z, Ä, Ö, Ü, 0-9. If the number plate ends with the letter "E" (electric vehicles) or "H" (historic vehicles), this should only be entered if it actually appears on the plate.

You can add any number of vignettes for different countries. You will then need to provide an email address and telephone number - this will allow you to download the vignette yourself if it does not arrive in your email inbox.

Payment can be made via BLIK, card, online transfer or electronic wallets (Google Pay / Apple Pay).

➡️ Once an order is placed, two emails are sent to market.autopay.pl:

  1. the first acknowledges receipt of payment (NB - this is not yet a vignette)
  2. the second contains a link to download the vignette

Important: If you receive a payment default notice, it is a good idea to make sure which order the message relates to - especially if several have been generated.

If the vignette does not arrive by e-mail, it can be downloaded from the website (the vignette can be downloaded if a telephone number was provided at the time of purchase): market.autopay.co.uk/download/vignette.

➡️ The implementation of the order for vignettes-online.co.uk takes place in 3 stages:

  1. Order acceptance and awaiting payment - email 1 + 2 (email from payment gateway).
  2. Confirmation of payment and processing - email 3 (additional emails 4 and 5 are sent for Austrian vignettes (ASFiNAG requirement).
  3. Delivery of the vignette - email 6.

There is a My Vignettes function on vignettes-online.co.uk, which allows you to check the status of your order: vignettes-online.com/my-vignettes.

The delivery time is usually up to 15 minutes (between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m., except for Austrian vignettes, which are delivered 24 hours a day). During the holiday season, it can extend to a maximum of 30 minutes.

Vehicle categories abroad

Austria All two-wheel vehicles with a maximum permissible weight of 3.5 t and motorbikes.
Bulgaria All two-wheelers with a permissible weight of up to 3.5 t.
Czech Republic All two-wheel vehicles with a maximum permissible weight of 3.5 t (motorbikes are exempt).
Slovakia All two-wheelers with a maximum permissible weight of 3.5 t registered up to 9 persons.

If the vehicle combination (towing vehicle + trailer) exceeds 3.5 t, a vignette for the trailer must be purchased in addition.
Slovenia Category 2A- vehicles up to 3.5 t, with a maximum height above the front axle of 1.30 m from road level, with or without a trailer (up to 3.5 t combination) and campervans and caravans.

Category 2B- vehicles up to 3.5 t, whose height above the front axle is more than 1.30 m from road level (e.g.: Fiat Ducato, Renault Master, Iveco Daily).

Category 1- motorbikes
Switzerland Category V1- motorbikes

Category V2- all two-track vehicles up to 3.5 t gross vehicle weight.

Category V3- trailers towed by vehicles up to 3.5 t. Each driver is required to purchase a vignette for the trailer and the towing vehicle.
Hungary Category D1- vehicles up to 3.5t which are registered as passenger vehicles up to max. 7 persons and are not used for the carriage of goods and their trailers.

Category D2- Vehicles up to 3.5t that are registered as trucks (vans), passenger vehicles over 7 persons, pickups, campervans and other vehicles that do not fall into category D1, 'with grille', 'with pack'. E.g: Renault Master, Opel Vovaro, Dodge RAM, Peugeot Partner with pack or grille.

Category D1M- motorbikes.

What you should know after buying a vignette

Vignettes for Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland and Hungary are ordered daily between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. Purchases made overnight will be processed after 7:00 a.m. Vignettes with a "for today" date can be purchased from 7:00 a.m. Vignettes to Austria are processed 24 hours a day.

After purchase, an email is sent (usually within 15 minutes) with a link to a page where you can check the status of your order and download the vignettes. If purchased via the Autopay app, the document will also be available directly in the app.

If the vignette does not arrive within an hour, it is worth checking the 'Spam' or 'Offers' folders. If you have any problems, please contact us via the contact form shown at the bottom of the page.

If the vignette does not arrive by e-mail, it can be downloaded from the website (the vignette can be downloaded if a telephone number was provided at the time of purchase): market.autopay.co.uk/download/vignette.

On vignettes-online.co.uk, there is a My Vignettes function that allows you to check the status of your order and download your purchased and finished vignettes: vignettes-online.com/my-vignettes.

All vignettes purchased through Autopay are official documents and contain the required data - so you can be sure they are valid and safe to show during checks.

Invoices

An invoice for the purchase of a vignette can be obtained depending on the place of purchase and the type of account.

Autopay app:

  • Mobility Basic (individual account): invoice to be generated manually in www panel. To do so, go to the Transactions, select the relevant transaction and click Issue an invoice.
  • Mobility Firm (corporate account): an invoice for a single journey will automatically be sent to your e-mail address after the transaction has been paid for - provided that the invoice details have been filled in beforehand. The document will also be available in the web panel under the tab Invoices.

market.autopay.co.uk:

  • The invoice is only available for Austrian vignettes. When purchasing, please select the option "I want to receive an invoice" and fill in the required data. An invoice will be sent along with the generated vignette. For vignettes for other countries, an invoice for a non-business person can be issued on request. If you need such an invoice - please write to us.

vignettes-online.co.uk:

  • If company details were provided when placing the order, the invoice will be generated automatically and sent with the order.
  • To download the invoice, find the email with the title "Order status (1234567) - vignettes ready to download" from the sender Winiety-Online.pl. In the body of the message there is a link "YOUR WINE", which leads to the order fulfilment page. In the section "Your documents" there is a button to download the invoice.
  • If an invoice is not yet available, it is worth checking the site again the next day - documents are updated twice a day.
  • If company details are not provided when placing an order, it is not possible to issue an invoice in accordance with Article 108a of the VAT Act. To avoid this, it is advisable to use the free application Flotomatwhere orders are assigned to the company's VAT number and invoices are issued automatically and can be accessed at any time.

Editing and return

Editing and return of the vignette is only possible in selected cases - depending on the country and the timing of the order.

  • Once a vignette has started to expire, it can no longer be edited or returned.
  • A vignette refund is only possible for individuals (refunds are not available for vignettes purchased for a company)

The Austrian system also allows:

  • editing of section tickets (if unused) purchased by the market.autopay.pl: market.autopay.co.uk/vignette/edition/AT/ticket
  • reimbursement of stub tickets (if unused) purchased by market.autopay.pl: market.autopay.co.uk/vignette/return/AT/ticket
  • return and editing of section tickets (if unused) purchased by the vignettes-online.co.uk: vignettes-online.co.uk/refunds-and-edition-austria

➡️Czechy:

  • It is possible to edit the vignette before the start of validity (change of date up to a maximum of 30 days in advance).
  • You can change the registration number, country of registration and dates of travel.
  • In the case of an already active vignette - limited editing is possible: a maximum of 2 characters in the registration number can be changed, without altering its length.

Editing can be done on your own, directly on the Czech exhibitor's website. Simply scan the QR code located on the vignette, which will redirect you to the appropriate page for making changes. To have us edit your data, please contact us using the form.

➡️Słowenia:

  • It is possible to edit the vignette before it becomes valid.
  • You can change the registration number, country of registration and dates of travel.
  • Editing requests are sent to the Autopay team.

➡️ Other countries (Bulgaria, Slovakia, Romania, Switzerland, Hungary): It is not possible to edit or return the vignette.

Problems with payment and ordering

➡️ Payment problems

After purchasing a vignette via the app or the marketplace website, two emails are sent:

  1. confirmation of receipt of payment
  2. information on the performance of the contract

If you are unsure whether a transaction has been completed correctly, it is worth checking the status of the payment and the recipient of the transaction - a helpful tool can be found at here (check transaction status).

Note: The status of the transaction can only be checked for payments made via the Autopay S.A. payment gateway.

If for some reason your purchase has been interrupted and the money has not been debited from your account or is not in your bank's pending transactions, you can make a new purchase.

The most common reasons for payment rejection:

  • no funds on account
  • wrong card data
  • transaction limit exceeded
  • refusal by the bank
  • exceeding the time limit for entering BLIK code
  • Incorrect BLIK code

If you need to change your payment method, you can use the link in the email regarding the start of the transaction. If you do not receive an email - it is best to place a new order.

➡️ No e-mail

If the purchase was made from market.autopay.pl, it can be downloaded from market.autopay.co.uk/download/vignette - provided that a telephone number was provided at the time of purchase.

If the purchase was made on vignettes-online.co.uk, the My Vignettes function is available on vignettes-online.com/my-vignettes, which allows you to check the status of your order and download the finished documents.

The most common reason for missing messages is that they end up in the SPAM folder or another tab in the mailbox. It is worth checking all folders.

Possible other causes:

  • typo in the e-mail address when placing an order
  • mailbox blocks transactional messages (often affects o2.pl, wp.pl, onet.pl, yahoo.pl, yahoo.de, yahoo.com, icloud.com, me.com and aol.com)
  • the order has not been paid or is still being processed

If you have paid by SMS on the vignette-online website, wait up to 30 minutes - in the message there is a link to download the vignette. If not - contact us with your order number, e-mail address, date of purchase, vehicle registration number.

➡️ Incomplete order

All vignettes should be delivered together. If part of the order is missing:

  • for the vignette-online website: go to page vignettes-online.com/my-vignettes- there you can check whether the vignettes are ready for download or are still being processed. If you have any further doubts, please contact us via the form available at the bottom of the page.
  • in the case of a purchase via the app or the market, if it is not possible to generate the entire order, you will receive an e-mail with information about the refund.

➡️ No button to download vignettes

If there is no button for downloading the vignette on the order fulfilment page, this could mean that: the vignette is still under processing (e.g. due to a country-specific system failure). The document will be completed once processing is complete.

It is advisable to wait 15 minutes and refresh the page. If the problem persists - contact support.

➡️ Error on vignette

In the event of errors in the vignette data (e.g. registration number or travel date), the editing options depend on the country. Detailed rules are described in section: Editing and return

Additional tolls in Austria (FLEX)

In Austria, in addition to the standard vignette, there are additional tolls for selected bridges and tunnels. These can be paid in two ways: automatically via the 'Austria - Tunnels and Bridges (FLEX)' service or by purchasing individual section tickets.

  • Vignette- valid on most motorways and motorways in Austria, valid for a specific period of time (e.g. 10 days).
  • Sectional ticket- applies to specific tunnels and bridges, single ticket valid for 365 days, prepaid.
  • FLEX- operates automatically, the charge being levied after the ride, with no prior purchase necessary.

FLEX is a service available on the Autopay app that allows the automatic charging of tolls for driving specific sections - without having to stop at the toll gates. The toll is charged as soon as you have driven a particular section and collected from the connected card. If you already have a valid toll for a particular registration number, FLEX will not charge the toll again, eliminating the risk of double charging.

With FLEX you can use the green lanes for cars and avoid queues. In the case of motorbikes and vehicles with trailers, there may be difficulties in automatically recognising the plates - in which case another lane or the assistance of an attendant must be used. The system is particularly convenient on the A9 motorway, where a modern barrier-free system is in operation.

An alternative to the FLEX is stretch tickets. The ticket is assigned to your registration number and is valid for 365 days from the date of purchase. You can choose a one-way or two-way journey. A stretch ticket is a good option for those who do not want to use an app or prefer to pay in advance.

Returns and edits:

  • Sectional tickets can be editor returnif they have not already been used
  • FLEX does not require prior purchase, so the return procedure does not apply to it.
  • Detailed rules for editing and returning vignettes are described in a separate section.
